Hope this page isn't outdated. Now the car is ok, no warning indicators, no nothing. So i notice that the car has rough start, vibration, and hesitate when accelerate. The N54 engine is known for needing turbos every so often as the wastegate actuator gets some slop in it and the ECU can't control turbo pressure properly eventually going into limp home. If your engine doesn't start youll want to check the basics. Just replaced vanos due to mileage, but never had any issues. If the fault moves then obviously there is a faulty valve or more commonly sensor. Some time after starting the engine and driving when my speed goes down the engine start vibrating as the whole car is vibrating, I need to turn off the engine for around 5 minutes so the vibration will go and I am not getting any light. My 2006 e90 325i with 109,000 miles has an inconsistent idle in the mornings, after sitting overnight.
